About Jonathan Hewat
Jonathan Hewat has more than twenty years’ experience in independent-school admissions, marketing, communications and external relations. He began his career working directly with pupils in boarding and preparatory schools, including as a Housemaster at St Mary’s Hall, Stonyhurst, before moving into admissions and marketing. This early pastoral experience has given him an enduring understanding of school life from the inside.
His career has included senior roles at Stonyhurst College, Bilton Grange, Loretto School, Queen Margaret’s School and Lomond School, working closely with Heads, Governors and senior leadership teams on pupil recruitment, marketing strategy, communications and external relations.
Through JH Consultancy, Jonathan now brings that experience to schools seeking practical, strategic support with marketing, admissions and recruitment.
